Cardiff City have announced the signing of centre-back Jack Simpson from Rangers.
Simpson, 25, joins on a two-year deal and becomes the Bluebirds 15th signing of the summer. He becomes Cardiff's second centre-back addition following the loan arrival of Cedric Kipre.
He said: "I'm very excited to join the club. I spoke to the manager about what he's trying to do here. I'm a ball-playing centre-half, and hopefully that'll suit the way the team are playing now.
"I'm excited to be here. I want to help the team and play in as many games as possible."
Boss Steve Morison said he was delighted to get the deal done. He said: "Jack's going to bring balance for us in defence.
"He is a fantastic player, with a beautiful left foot. He is someone who wanted to come and be part of it. Jack's here with a smile on his face, and ready to get to work. He's an excellent addition to the group."
Cardiff were linked with the defender 18 months ago when Neil Harris was in charge. However the defender opted for a move north of the border in the end, joining Glasgow outfit Rangers.
The former England under-21 international, who has 11 Premier League appearances to his name during his time with Bournemouth, had a disappointing spell at Ibrox, though, featuring only nine teams in the league since his move there.
But at 25, the 6ft 2in centre-back will no doubt have his sights set on kicking his career on further. He will provide further competition in that position, too, with Kipre, Perry Ng, Curtis Nelson, Mark McGuinness and Oliver Denham the choices available as things stand.
