Cardiff City are on the lookout for a new academy manager, with current chief Dave Hughes moving to a new job elsewhere.
Hughes, who joined from Southampton in November 2020, was originally handed the head of academy coaching role before taking over the academy all together last year following James McCarthy’s departure.
But he is set to move on to pastures new and it leaves the Bluebirds looking for someone new to drive on the excellent foundations which have been laid in the academy.

Cardiff wrote in a statement: “The Bluebirds are currently looking to recruit a new academy manager.
“This vital role at Cardiff City Football Club requires an individual who will be responsible for overseeing the strategic leadership and operation of the club’s academy.
“Current academy manager David Hughes is moving on from the role this summer following two years in an academy leadership role.
“David will continue to oversee the academy until a new appointment is made, before setting off for an exciting new challenge of his own. We’d like to thank David for his important job contribution over the past two seasons.”
Given the club’s renewed reliance on the youth pathway, it goes without saying this is a role they will want filled quickly.
Having seen the likes of Rubin Colwill, Isaak Davies, Joel Bagan, Eli King and Oliver Denham graduate into the first team, City are eager to keep that production line going.
The vacancy for job applications is open until Friday, July 22.
