Cardiff City news as Bluebirds handed huge boost by returning star and Neil Warnock choked up by fans' reaction

Here are your Cardiff City headlines for Wednesday, September 7.

Star returns to training

Cardiff City have been handed a huge boost by the return of Ebou Adams, who resumed first-team training this week.

The midfielder, who was signed as a free agent after leaving Forest Green Rovers this summer, played just 10 minutes of his first pre-season game before sustaining a horror injury which saw his pectoral muscle rip from the bone.

Following surgery and rehabilitation, though, Adams is back on the training ground and was pictured smiling with his Bluebirds team-mates.

He is right on track, according to Steve Morison, who last week said: ""He is flying. We hope, all being well, by the time we get to the Hull game, he will have had a full week's training by then.

"I'm not saying he will be ready to play, but he will be ready to start having an involvement."

Warnock 'touched' as he is joined by legends on stage

Neil Warnock said he was "touched" by the reception he received from Cardiff City fans during his one-man show at St David's Hall on Tuesday night, Are You With Me?

Warnock regaled fans with stories from his time at Cardiff and throughout his managerial career and even finished the set off with a poem he had written. He did the ayatollah and his arm-whirling celebration which became so synonymous with his time with the club.

He was also joined by some special guests on stage - Sol Bamba and City captain Joe Ralls joined their old boss for a section of the performance - but the Bluebirds fans who turned out in numbers made it particularly special for him.

"I couldn't actually believe it," he told the BBC of the reception he received. "I got on really well when I was down here and you couldn't actually take the memories away from us.

"We had a great time and it was good to come back and go back in time, talk about the good times and the bad times. When you retire after so long, it is a bit empty and this has given me purpose.

"To see the fans like they were, they stayed until the end... I never got that reception when I managed here!"

He added: "What a tremendous reception that was. I was really touched at times tonight, especially at the end. I was (choked up). It was difficult to hold back tonight.

"It gave me an opportunity to thank them."

His show goes to Sheffield (Sept 16), Huddersfield (Sept 23), Plymouth (Oct 28), Middlesbrough (Nov 18) and Scarborough (Nov 19).

Hull boss: Cardiff City have changed 'a lot'

Hull City manager Shota Arveladze expects a much-changed Cardiff City side when his team visit the Welsh capital this weekend.

The Tigers have had a mixed start to the season, sitting in 12th place on 11 points, having lost three of their last four matches.

Speaking on Wednesday ahead of the Championship fixture, he said: "I think they've (Cardiff City) changed a lot. They've changed a lot of players and their style of play. They've been playing from the back more. There have been a lot of changes (there).

"Before Sunday, Sheffield United hadn't won an away game. It's about us having a good game (against Cardiff City). We're looking to go on a good run which would give us a lot more confidence."
