Doyle hails Drameh partnership as Bluebirds put Posh to sword
Tommy Doyle says he's delighted to be playing alongside fellow loanee Cody Drameh once again.
The pair, who both arrived on loan in the capital in January, have previously played together for England at under-21 level, and linked up brilliantly during Wednesday's 4-0 win over Peterborough United on Wednesday night.
Doyle believes the understanding forged at international level could prove key to any success in south Wales, and fans will likewise be hoping it's a partnership that will blossom over the coming weeks.
Doyle told the club's official website after the game: "Cody and I have played together with the England youth teams, so we know each other's games - I know his strengths, and he knows mine. We like to think we work well together, especially if we keep progressing.
"I think when we work well as a team, individuals shine. As a team we were brilliant, and then individuals could start enjoying themselves, and that's what it's about."
Drameh was certainly one of those to shine under the lights on Wednesday.
The wingback has already hailed the influence of Steve Morison in bringing him to the capital, adding that he felt it was 'nice to be wanted' after finding first-team football tricky to come by at Elland Road.
It's safe to say Doyle is similarly enjoying himself at Cardiff City Stadium, but is keen to maintain focus amid a busy upcoming schedule.
"The games coming up are exciting for us," he continued. "You want to play in these big games as a player, and enjoy it with the fans. Wherever we go, whether it's home or away, the main objective is three points.
"I love it here, it's brilliant. Everyone has welcomed me really well, and I'm feeling very comfortable. The main thing is that I enjoy it on the pitch, and I am enjoying it. The lads have been brilliant with me, so long may it continue."
Morison guarding against complacency amid contract hint
Steve Morison has warned his side that they still aren't safe from relegation, despite Wednesday's impressive victory, and has suggested that he would be keen to take the job beyond the end of the season.
Cardiff are now 12 points clear of the dropzone heading into the trip to Morison's former club Millwall on Saturday, and fears over what would have been a disastrous relegation have clearly eased on the back of what was a third consecutive win on Wednesday.
Morison says the mood in the camp is sky high at the moment, but has urged his side to guard against complacency heading into the second half of the season.
"They're starting to believe," Morison said. "Every day, the level in training has gone through the roof. That's because of the quality within the group and the people who were already here have now got to up their game to match that quality.
"Winning breeds winning, and it brings people in with a smile on their face. People enjoy coming to work and it's definitely something we're building at the minute.
"People may well say we're safe now, but look how quickly we've won three games in a row. By the time we hit the next international break I think it's another seven or eight games.
"We just need to tick each game off."
Morison's tenure is, as things stand, set to end at the end of the season, but he has already suggested that he would like to continue at the helm beyond the current campaign.
He added: "You can see a quite clear identity with what we want to do and there's evolutions of that, and there's more to come from that.
"Hopefully I get the opportunity to do it."
Ralls celebration a nod to City's togetherness
Morison says Joe Ralls' touching celebration perfectly sums up the level of togetherness in his squad at the moment.
Ralls, who took the armband for the victory over Peterborough, opened the scoring after four minutes, and rushed over to the dugout to hold Sean Morrison's number four shirt aloft, with the skipper watching on.
Morrison is currently out for the rest of the season after suffering an ACL injury during the win over Barnsley and, with his contract up at the end of the season, there is clearly some uncertainty over his Cardiff future.
City boss Morison has been delighted by the way his side have rallied around their stricken team-mate, and says team spirit and togetherness is higher than ever.
"The squad is all together," he said. "You see what Rallsy did. It was fitting that he scored the goal and held the shirt up for Moz, who's been a massive part of this football club for the last seven years.
"And, I don't know about you but I haven't seen a huddle before a game for a long time. So that shows where we are as a group of players.
"Then, when the game finishes, there isn't a member of the squad not in there celebrating with their team-mates.
"We're definitely in a much better place."
Ferguson slams Posh after 'complete embarrassment' at Cardiff
Peterborough boss Darren Ferguson has labelled his side's defeat to Cardiff as a 'humiliation' and 'complete embarrassment'.
Ferguson could only watch on as his side were comprehensively torn part and outclassed by the rampant Bluebirds, and was understandably furious at his side's efforts.
"I’m devastated," he said after the game. "It was a humiliation and a complete embarrassment to the club. A performance of that level in a game of this magnitude will never, ever be acceptable.
"I cannot take one positive out of that performance, not one. I could have made about two subs after 20-25 minutes.
"It’s not going to make much difference but I do have to apologise to the fans who came down to watch what was an unbelievable performance. It could have been four or five nil after 20 minutes.
"From the top to bottom of the game, in terms of the fundamentals – tackles, second balls, headers, set-pieces, running on the ball – they annihilated us."
