Cardi B labelled 'Queen of the Met Gala' after wearing FOUR jaw-dropping gowns

Cardi B impressed fans with four different looks for the Met Gala last night, which have prompted some people to declare her the new "queen" of the annual fashion event.

The rapper, 30, was among the guests at this year's event at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City, which was themed around the late fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld.

She modelled four outfits over the course of the evening, with her having showcased her first look whilst leaving her hotel, before changing into a second for the red carpet.

Her third outfit is understood to have been flaunted inside the museum at the annual fashion event, whilst the fourth look was shown off by Cardi ahead of an after-party.

She started the evening by wearing a pink gown that featured a dramatic headpiece. The ensemble included a bejewelled corset, a pearl choker necklace and some bangles.

Cardi later graced the red carpet in a black ball gown that she accompanied with a tie and a pair of gloves. The look - which was in homage to Karl - included a grey wig.

She changed into a third outfit once inside the museum, with her modelling a black and pink dogtooth dress, seemingly inspired by the classic Chanel suit.

Her fourth dress was adorned with newspaper articles about the late designer Karl, who had been the creative director of Chanel and had his own eponymous label.

Fans were impressed with her outfits from the evening, with one person having tweeted about her: "Cardi B did not come to play last night at the Met Gala. 4 iconic looks."

Whilst another commented: "Not one not two but four different looks on the same night. This is what it looks like to take risks that pay off. 10s across the board."

A third person wrote: "Tbh she's the MVP this year for me". Another commented: "Four outfits? She won". And a fifth tweeted: "Cardi B was the best dressed at the Met Gala."

Others referred to her as "the queen" of the event, including one fan who wrote: "Cardi is the Met Queen at this point". Another said: "Cardi B is truly the Queen of Met Gala now".

"Cardi is the queen of the Met," commented a third person about her recently. Whilst another person commented in reference to Cardi: "Maybe there's a new Met Gala queen".

Others suggested that she had rivalled the likes of Rihanna, 35 - who has previously been described as "the queen of the Met Gala" following her fashion choices in past years.

Her looks at the event last night included a dramatic white gown that featured a lengthy train, accompanied by a floral-shaped piece which engulfed the singer's torso and head.

"Rihanna met her match when it comes to giving face and looks. Cardi B is the new supreme," tweeted one person. Another said: "It's time we gave her crown to Cardi".

"I'm sad to say it but Cardi B and Doja [Cat] has took the Met crown from Rihanna," wrote a third. Another said: "How you let Cardi take your Met Gala crown like that."

Not everyone agreed though, as there a number of fans who suggested that Rihanna still held the title. One of them tweeted: "Rihanna the Queen of the Met Gala".

"Rihanna's position as queen of the #MetGala is very much safe for another year," read another tweet. Whilst one person said: "Rihanna is the undisputed queen of Met Gala".
