Caravans have pitched up on a sports ground in south Wales. Several vehicles were reported to have set up on Rest Bay Sports Ground in Porthcawl on the evening of Wednesday, July 27.
It is believed the caravans were the same ones reported to have gained access to pitch up at Salt Lake earlier in the week. On this occasion, the council and police were informed and a notice was served to instruct the vehicles to leave the site.
The council has been made aware of the most recent move and stated further action is underway to ensure the vehicles are moved on. Want more stories like this? Sign up for our free Bridgend newsletter.

A spokesperson for Bridgend County Borough Council said: “A number of caravans gained access to Salt Lake earlier in the week after gates and boulders were removed at the site. South Wales Police were informed and Bridgend County Borough Council served a notice instructing the caravans to leave the site.
“We understand that the caravans have since moved and are currently located at the playing fields in Rest Bay. Further action is being taken to ensure that they also leave this site, and the situation is being monitored closely.”
