Carabao Cup draw in full: Tottenham handed nightmare task but good news for Arsenal and Manchester United

Tottenham will face Manchester City in the fourth round of the Carabao Cup.

Ange Postecoglou has made it clear he believes the club can win a trophy this season, but they must beat Pep Guardiola’s side if they are to progress.

The good news for Spurs is that Guardiola has made it clear the Carabao Cup is not a priority, confirming he will not risk his first-team stars in the competition.

"The next round, I announce you, I play the second team," Guardiola said after City’s win over Watford. "We are not going to waste energy, for sure."

Arsenal cruised past Bolton to book their place in the fourth round and it is another favourable draw, as they travel to take on Preston, who sit 21st in the Championship,

Manchester United will host Leicester, while defending champions Liverpool are on the road against Brighton

Chelsea do not yet know their opponents - the third-round clash between AFC Wimbledon and Newcastle has been rearranged due to flooding at Plough Lane. That will take place next week at St James’ Park, with the Blues facing the winners.

There is a real chance for Brentford to reach the quarter-finals, with Sheffield Wednesday their opponents, and there will be similar confidence for Southampton, who are home to Stoke, despite a tough start to the season.

The fourth-round matches are scheduled to take place on the week commencing October 28.
