Cara Delevingne's worried family 'planning intervention' over model's erratic behaviour

Cara Delevingne's worried family are reportedly planning to stage an intervention after the model's increasingly erratic behaviour over the past weeks.

The actress, 30, has sparked concern in a series of bizarre incidents of late, with the star being pictured on Monday at Van Nuys Airport sitting on a bench shoeless with dishevelled hair as she smoked a cigarette.

Now it has been reported Cara's loved ones are so worried about her, they are looking to find a way to intervene to encourage the model to get help.

"We are all incredibly concerned. The situation has been building for a few weeks now, and Cara's family is involved. There is talk of staging some kind of intervention and making sure Cara gets the help she may well need," a family friend told The Sun.

"She has been burning the candle at both ends of late, and it's clearly taking its toll. The consensus is that she needs a few weeks of total rest — no booze, no partying and, crucially, some healthy, hot meals inside her."

They added: "Cara’s an incredibly bright, switched-on girl — but even she needs a guiding hand sometimes, There has been some talk of getting her into a retreat of some kind for a detox and some R&R."

Cara lives over in Los Angeles, but was originally born in Hammersmith and has three siblings, including her model sister Poppy.

The star has previously spoken openly about her battle with anxiety and depression, saying she was severely depressed when she was 15 after struggling at school due to her dyspraxia.

Mirror Online has contacted Cara's representatives for comment.

Cara's behaviour lately has left fans increasingly concerned.

The catwalk star was seen fussing over Megan Thee Stallion as she posed on the red carpet at the Billboard Music Awards in May.

Fans claimed Megan looked "uncomfortable" throughout the evening. But, Cara later said she was simply "living her best life".

Later in July, Cara then sparked concern again as she appeared to be constantly fidgeting during her appearance on Live With Kelly And Ryan in July.

Cara kept rubbing her hands together during the interview with hosts Kelly Pipa and Ryan Seacrest.

But, the Suicide Squad actress continued to enjoy life as she joined A-list pals on a yacht trip to celebrate her 30th birthday in August.

Cara was joined by Sienna Miller, her sister Poppy, Margot Robbie and pal Adwoa Aboah for a wild yacht party off the coast of Formentera, Spain.

The English model caused worry again when she was spotted in her parked car smoking in the driver's seat in West Hollywood.

Cara had her hair tied up in a messy bun as she changed her outfit and sported a lilac T-shirt, shorts and a leopard print bucket hat before heading into a sex shop.

The dishevelled appearance was later explained as a source told MailOnline she hadn't had time to recover after going to Burning Man festival in the Black Rock Desert in Nevada.

A source told the publication: "She had just spent days in the desert – not eating all that much and she looked dishevelled because she hadn't had time to scrub up yet.

"Her friends are worried about her generally after some erratic behaviour, but she has a good group around her. Her sister Poppy was at the festival with her. She wasn't alone and she has her back.

"Burning Man isn't lined with burger vans like other festivals. You chuck everything you need in an RV and that's what you have to live on while you're there. Everything works on a swapping system.'"

The festival is unlike any other as the annual nine day long event sees people come together to form a temporary community, which is intended to be self-sufficient.

No money passes hands at the event, which encourages people to trade and take part in free activities and means you must bring your own food and water.
