An Garda Siochana came across a bizarre sign on a car windscreen in Dublin city centre yesterday.
A driver had printed off a fake HSE sign saying 'Urgent Blood Delivery' and stuck the sign to the window of their car. The dodgy sign was discovered on Spencer Dock Bridge.
On further inspection, it was discovered that the car had no NCT and the vehicle was then seized. An Garda Siochana took to Twitter to share an image of the fake sign.

"The North Central Roads Policing Unit carried out a checkpoint recently on Spencer Dock Bridge. The driver of this vehicle pretended to work for the HSE and stuck a fake 'Urgent Blood Delivery' sign to their screen. The vehicle has had no NCT since Jan 2021. Vehicle seized," they wrote on social media.
AA Ireland were shocked by the fake sign, saying: "The bloody cheek". However, some people saw the funny side with one person writing: "I'd say their blood is boiling now".
Twitter users also noticed a box of latex gloves on the dashboard, which may have also been part of the con. One person wrote: "The box of examination gloves on the dash for additional credibility…"
