A car was ripped apart by a fire and emergency services blocked a road.
Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service were called at 9.42pm on Monday, December 19, following reports of a car on fire on Sunbury Road in Poulton, Wirral. Once firefighters arrived at the scene four minutes later, they found a black vehicle well alight.
Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used a high pressure hose to put out the blaze. It took emergency services just over 30 minutes to fully extinguish the fire, with crews leaving the scene at 10.16pm.

No other emergency services were at the scene and it's believed the vehicle was empty at the time of the blaze. The fire service said they believe the fire was started accidentally.
Pictures taken by an eyewitness at the scene show a fire engine blocking one end of Sunbury Road and the wreckage of the black car.
