Car melts on Glasgow street as shocking video shows flames shooting into sky

Shocking video footage show flames shooting into the sky when a car caught fire on a Glasgow street.

Emergency services raced to the scene of the parked Nissan on Eriboll Street at around 12am on Tuesday, February 7. Pictures taken in the aftermath show the car completely destroyed with the rear windscreen shattered and the body melted into a mere shell.

A video taken by a resident shows large flames, with smoke billowing into the street, with a fire engine arriving seconds into the clip.

No injuries have been reported and police are now investigating the cause of the fire, although they do not believe there are any suspicious circumstances, reports the Daily Record.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Officers received a report of a vehicle fire on Eriboll Street, Glasgow. Enquiries were carried out and the fire is not believed to be suspicious.”

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson added: ""Operations Control mobilised one appliance to the scene and firefighters extinguished a car fire. There were no casualties and crews left after ensuring the area was made safe”.
