Emergency services rushed to a main city road after a car went up in flames.
Fire fighters were called to the junction of Edge Lane and St Oswald's Street, after reports that a car was on fire. The car reportedly started to flame at around 11.34am.
Merseyside fire and rescue service were alerted straight away, and at the scene just minutes later, at 11.38am. One fire engine attended and used a high pressure hose to put out the fire.

A spokesperson for Merseyside fire and rescue service said: "Merseyside Fire & Rescue Service is currently in attendance at the junction of Edge Lane and St Oswald’s Street. Crews were alerted at 11.34am and on scene at 11.38am. One fire engine is currently in attendance.
"On arrival crews found one vehicle involved in fire near to the traffic lights. Firefighters are using high pressure hose reel jets to extinguish the fire.
"Merseyside Police have been requested to assist with traffic management."
