A car has flipped onto its roof in a horror crash with a lorry near Edinburgh.
A woman has been charged after the accident happened at the Hermiston Gait roundabout at around 12.40pm on Friday September 9. Emergency services scrambled to the two-vehicle crash on the road, which connects the A720 Edinburgh City Bypass and the A71 with the M8 motorway.
Dramatic pictures taken from the scene show a white vehicle smashed and upside down on the road. A red Royal Mail lorry can be seen damaged nearby.
It's understood ambulance crews attended but the extent of any injuries as a result of the crash is so far unclear. One lane of the roundabout was restricted while emergency services dealt with the incident, but this has now reopened.
The female was charged with road traffic offences.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 12.40pm on Friday, September 9, police were called to the Hermiston Gait roundabout, following a report of a two-vehicle crash.
"Police attended and one female has been charged with road traffic offences."
