Car flips onto roof and second motor lands in ditch near Scots country park

A driver had a lucky escape after a car flipped onto its roof following a crash near a Scots country park.

The incident involving two motors took place near the entrance to Craigtoun Country Park in St Andrews before 5pm on Sunday night.

Photos taken at the scene show the aftermath of the crash, with one car lying on it's roof on a hedge by the roadside.

A second vehicle lies in a ditch just metres away.

Both motors are covered in police tape and 'police aware' stickers have been stuck on the cars.

Officers attended the scene of the smash to offer assistance.

Cops have confirmed that no arrests have been made.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 4.50pm on Sunday, 27 March, police were called to a report of a two car road crash near the entrance to Craigtoun Country Park, St Andrews.

"Officers attended to assist and Ambulance were not required."
