Car flips on side in terrifying Scots road crash as man rushed to hospital

A Scots man was rushed to hospital after a late night crash in Greenock left one vehicle lying on its side.

Cops were alerted to the incident and arrived at the scene just after 10.30pm on Sunday. Officers say the male driver was taken to hospital after the one vehicle crash on Dunlop Street.

Police Scotland shut down the road and said this morning they have started a probe into the crash.

An image shows multiple police cars and officers at the scene late last night. Traffic had been stopped and a white vehicle appears to be lying on its side.

Locals online complained about a traffic calming island on Dunlop Street which they suggest has led to a spate of similar accidents.

A Police Spokesperson confirmed their investigation is now ongoing.

They said: "Around 10.35pm on Sunday, 18 September, 2022, police received a report of a one-vehicle road crash in Dunlop Street, Greenock.

"The male driver of the car was taken to hospital and enquiries are ongoing."
