Car engulfed in fireball on side of A90 as emergency services race to scene

Emergency services raced to a busy Scots road this afternoon after a car bust into flames.

Police and fire crews attended the scene on the A90 southbound, near the junction with B9127 for Inverarity, at roughly 12.45pm after receiving reports of a vehicle fire.

Pictures of the incident show a silver car completely engulfed by flames, sending plumes of thick, black smoke into the air.

Two fire appliances were mobilised and the road was sealed off, with firefighters able to extinguish the blaze. Thankfully, no injuries have been reported.

One lane has now reopened, however traffic remains heavy in the area and motorists are advised to take an alternative route.
