Car crash in Dublin leaves four adults and young child in hospital

A single vehicle car crash has hospitalised four adults and a young child on the Main Street in Malahide.

All the injuries sustained are understood to be non-life threatening and all five were taken to Beaumont Hospital to be treated.

The car is understood to have collided with pedestrians.

There was a man and a woman in their eighties, two other women in their 20s and 30s and a child take to hospital.

A garda spokesman said: "Gardaí attended a single car rtc that occurred in Malahide at approximately 6:40pm this evening 28/01/22. A car is understood to have collided with pedestrians on Main Street Malahide.

"A man and woman aged in their 80s (occupants of the car) and two women, one aged in her 20s and the other in her 30s, along with a juvenile were taken to Beaumount Hospital to be treated for their injuries which are understood to be non-life threatening."

The spokesman added: "The road was closed for a brief period but has since reopened."
