A car burst into flames after a crash in Kylemore yesterday.
Dublin Fire Brigade rushed to the scene with high pressure hoses needed to put out the fire. Both vehicles were badly damaged in the crash and the crew needed to use breathing apparatus.
Shocking photos show a burnt black car with thick smoke still emerging from the bonnet. A red car escaped the flames but its bonnet had been smashed to pieces in the crash.

Firefighters have stressed that fires after crashes are not extremely common. Dublin Fire Brigade tweeted: "Firefighters responded to a road traffic collision in Kylemore earlier. Although it is unusual for a collision to cause a fire, it does happen on occasion. Crews in breathing apparatus used high pressure hose reels to extinguish the vehicle."
