A car was found burnt out after two robbers stole an empty cash box from HSBC and attacked a security guard.
Merseyside Police rushed to HSBC on Prescot Road in Old Swan at around 2.10pm on Thursday, May 19, following reports a security guard was attacked. Once at the scene it was reported to officers a man assaulted the security guard and took a cash box from him.
The man then made off from the scene in a black Vauxhall Meriva car, driven by another man, along Pemberton Road, towards Wharncliffe Road.

The same car was reportedly set alight by the two men on Brookside in Croxteth a short time later and the pair made off in a silver van. Police found the cash box, which was empty when they stole it, next to the Vauxhall Meriva.
Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service attended and extinguished the fire. No serious injuries were reported.
Extensive enquiries are currently ongoing to locate the suspects and anyone with any information is asked to contact police. Officers remain on Prescot Road and on Brookside while CCTV, forensic and witness enquiries are carried out.
Detective Inspector Gavin Mulcahy said: "While there were no serious injuries were reported or money stolen during this incident, targeting someone going about their business in the community is disgraceful. We are determined to find those responsible and bring them to justice.
"We are in the extremely early stages of this investigation and we would ask anyone who was in the Prescot Road or Brookside areas this afternoon who saw anything or anyone suspicious to come forward. Similarly, if you were driving in the Prescot Road area, or area around Croxteth Park and have dashcam footage then please review it and if you see anything let us know.
"Any information you hold could be vital to our investigation.”
