A road is closed after a car and motorbike crashed outside a petrol station.
Merseyside Police were called to Laird Street, at the junction of Lansdowne Street in Birkenhead, Wirral, at 7.05pm following reports of a crash. Once at the scene, which is outside a BP petrol station, officers found a motorbike rider was hit by a black Renault at the junction.
The motorbike rider suffered superficial and facial injuries following the incident. Police tape was put up around the junction of Lansdowne Street while officers investigate.

The driver of the car stopped at the scene and is assisting police with their enquiries. No arrests have been made. Within the cordon you can see the black Renault has severe damage to the front and the motorbike was laid on its side surrounded by debris.
A cordon remains in place on Laird Street with a number of police cars stopping traffic from using the road. One eyewitness said they were "so shocked" to see the riders helmet on the "other side of the road" following the crash.
The woman said: "I hope the lad who came off his bike after being hit by the car on Laird Street is ok. I was so shocked as his helmet was over the other side of the road on the pavement, the crash happened near entrance to the garage and his helmet was near to the old Miriam doctors place."
