Viewers of E4 show Celebs Go Dating were surprised when Chloe Brockett's date turned out to be Sir Captain Tom Moore’s grandson.
The Only Way Is Essex star Chloe, 21, enjoyed a double date with Max, alongside former 5ive star Abz Love and his potential love interest.
As they chatted over dinner, Chloe asked the two dates about their families and how close they are to them.
Across the table Max said: “Over the last year and a half, two years, we got closer due to like...
“My, so basically, it's a weird story but my grandad got extremely famous in the first lockdown.
“You know Sir Captain Tom Moore? So that's my grandad.”
A surprised Chloe exclaimed: “So basically, you're more famous than me and Abz!”, the Mirror reports.
Celebs Go Dating viewers were equally shocked and took to Twitter to react to the casual bombshell.
One wrote: “Dead at Abz from Five going on a double date alongside a man later revealed to be Captain Tom's grandson. #CelebsGoDating.”
Another social media user tweeted: “Hold on… was he joking about being Captain Tom’s grandson? #CelebsGoDating.”
One other show fan posted: “Is that Captain Tom Moores grandson? #CelebsGoDating.
Sir Captain Tom lived with his daughter Hannah and her family at their home in Bedfordshire for the last 13 years of his life.
He was knighted in May 2020 after raising £33million for NHS Charities Together by walking 100 laps of his garden with a frame before his 100th birthday during the first national lockdown.
Sir Captain Tom died in February this year after battling Covid-19.
Celebs Go Dating returned to E4 earlier this month with a shake-up as a host of famous faces prepared to be set up on dates by love gurus Anna Williamson and Paul C Brunson.
As part of the new format there is more of a competitive element as the celebrities battle it out to be crowned the “star dater”.
Celebs this year also include TV host Ulrika Jonsson, 54, Made In Chelsea heart-throb Miles Nazaire, 26 and Married At First Sight UK star Nikita Jasmine, 27.
Married At First Sight UK star Nikita Jasmine, 27, and Apprentice star Mark Parsons, 21, who competed on the Alan Sugar show in 2019, complete the line-up.
Relationship expert Anna has said the 2022 series has the most highs and lows ever.
