Cannabis plants have been discovered at the scene of a house fire in Bristol this morning, it has been revealed.
Emergency crews rushed to a house on Heath Street in Eastville on Monday morning (June 20) after reports of a fire shortly after 8am. Crews from Southmead, Temple and Kingswood were called to the blaze which blocked a key route on the M32 to allow firefighters to tackle the blaze from different angles.

A spokesperson from Avon and Somerset Police said: "We were called by the fire service at 8.30am to a fire at a property on Heath Street, Bristol. The fire service advised us they discovered cannabis plants in the address.
"We assisted the fire service with traffic control while they dealt with the fire. The plants have now been removed and enquiries into the incident are ongoing."
Avon Fire and Rescue confirmed everyone made it out of the property and no one was injured in the fire. Traffic was diverted away from the scene including two bus services, and the roads reopened as normal around 10.45pm.
"Firefighters used three jets, two hose reels, thermal imaging cameras and a turntable ladder to extinguish the blaze. The cause of the fire is thought to be accidental, caused by faulty electrics," a spokesperson confirmed.
