Cannabis farm uncovered at Lanarkshire property

Police found a cannabis farm behind the blacked out windows of a Lanarkshire property.

A total of 36 plants worth up to £14,400 were seized from Jack Fallow's home in Overton Road, Netherburn.

Fallow, 29, appeared at Hamilton Sheriff Court and admitted producing cannabis on November 9, 2020.

Co-accused Sandi Fallow, 28, of Fiveways Road, Netherburn, had her not guilty plea to the charge accepted.

The court heard that police officers arrived at the terraced house with a search warrant.

Abby Seal, prosecuting, said: "They noted the top floor windows were completely blacked out with tarpaulin and there was a smell of herbal cannabis.

"Inside they found a fully operational cannabis cultivation with 36 medium-sized plants and associated equipment in the front bedroom.

"The plants were seized along with paraphernalia including air filters and nutrients.

"The accused made no comment to all questions asked."

Defence agent Sandy Morrison said a criminal justice social work report would be "useful" before sentence is passed on his client.

Sheriff Andrew McIntyre deferred sentence and allowed Fallow to remain on bail.

The sheriff told him: "I'll keep an open mind until I get the report."
