Cannabis bush and weapons found in stolen car by police investigating drug dealing

Drugs and weapons were found in a stolen car by police targeting drug dealing in Oldham .

Police seized a cannabis bush, cash, an axe and a knife when they searched the white Kia Sportage GT-Line on Monday evening.

The vehicle was found in the car park at the back of Elm Stores, Elm Road, Limeside.

The car was on false plates and had been stolen from an address in Tameside on June 26, a post on the GMP Failsworth Facebook page said.

Another vehicle, a BMW, was also found with cannabis inside.

The car was seized for having no insurance.

The Facebook post, put up at 1pm on Tuesday, said: "Neighbourhood officers targeting drug dealing on the car park at the rear of Elm Stores, Elm Road, Limeside recovered two vehicles yesterday evening.

"One, a white Kia Sportage GT-Line, was on false plates and was an outstanding stolen from Tameside.

"The vehicle was stolen with keys from a burglary on June 26.

"Cannabis bush and cash along with an axe and knife were seized from this vehicle.

"The second vehicle, a BMW, was recovered for no insurance. Cannabis was found in this vehicle.

"All occupants made off on foot. Enquiries on going."
