Canelo Alvarez has taken aim at yet another football star in his row over Lionel Messi's Mexico jersey kick, slamming Sergio Aguero as a "b******".
The pound-for-pound boxing great has been enraged after footage emerged that appeared to show legendary footballer Messi kicking a Mexico jersey that he was given after Argentina's 2-0 win over them on Saturday. The PSG star could be seen in a video of his team celebrating their win, in which he scored the opening goal, appearing to kick the opposition's shirt.
Alvarez took to social media to express his distaste with Messi's actions, and received backlash from around the sporting world for a perceived overreaction. Aguero, the former Argentina striker, was one of Alvarez's many critics, including Cesc Fabregas, with the players explaining that the boxer doesn't understand dressing room culture in football.
"Mr Canelo, don't look for excuses or problems, surely you don't know about soccer and what happens in a locker room," Aguero wrote in a tweet in Spanish. "The shirts are always on the floor after the games are over due to sweat and then if you see well, he makes the movement to remove the booty and accidentally hits it."
But the undisputed super-middleweight champion didn't fancy the Argentine's train of thought, and branded him a "b******" and a hypocrite for getting involved in the dispute. "You b****** too... You wrote to me oh oh Canelo and now sucking, don't be a hypocrite b******."

And in a later tweet, Alvarez wrote: "Unfair? Unfair what you did right now you write this and a minute ago you s*** on my Instagram DMs you have to be clear and to the point. Rather you have to have eggs!"
Fabregas made a similar defence to Aguero, adding: "You neither know the person, nor do you understand how a dressing room works or what happens after a game. ALL t-shirts, even the ones we wear ourselves, go on the floor and are washed afterwards. And more when you celebrate an important victory.”
The dispute even saw Alvarez post an angry response to a meme picture that appeared to show Messi's Instagram page sharing a photo of a Mexico jersey at the end of a scrubbing brush. The joke photo showed a story post, which would delete after 24 hours online, but was almost certainly a joke.
