Canelo Alvarez has refused to rule out a crossover fight with UFC champion Kamaru Usman - but is currently focused on his boxing legacy.
The Mexican is considered boxing's pound-for-pound No.1 and will next to face a light-heavyweight title clash against Dmitry Bivol on May 7.
Usman has made multiple call-outs to Alvarez for a crossover bout which were initially dismissed.
But Alvarez has admitted he was told by his trainer Eddy Reynoso about Usman's call-out and his stance has since softened.
"Pay day, it's a pay day, I know," he told The MMA Hour. "Maybe, why not? My trainer told me about it but it's not on my mind.
"I want a really great legacy for my career, then we can talk about it."
Usman is currently facing time out of the octagon after having hand surgery and is not expected to return until July.
Any fight against Alvarez is certainly unlikely to take place in the near future with both fighters fully focused on their respective careers.
The 'Nigerian Nightmare' is expected to defend his belt against Leon Edwards when he finally makes his return, but he has continued to talk up a shot at Alvarez.
Despite no encouragement from UFC president Dana White, Usman is confident he could challenge the Mexican in the boxing ring in a "massive" clash.
He told DAZN : “It only makes sense because we’re in an era to where people want to be entertained.
"So, in order to entertain people, when have we in history ever seen the two pound-for-pound fighters in the world in combat sports at the top of their prime, when have we ever seen them compete? It never happened.

“In order for us to do that, this will be the greatest, the biggest event ever. The two pound-for-pound fighters in combat sports at the top of their prime to get in there and duke it out, I believe will be probably the biggest event ever.”
Usman later doubled down on his claim during a press conference: "He [Canelo Alvarez] is an amazing fighter and I take nothing away from him.
"If it happens, it happens. If not, it is what it is. Payday, payday for both."
Alvarez recently defeated Caleb Plant to become the first undisputed four-belt champion at 168lbs.
This year, the Mexican will first face Bivol before a trilogy fight with Gennady Golovkin if his rival can defeat Ryota Murata.
Any fight with Usman is likely to be much further down the line with the Mexican also called out by YouTube star Jake Paul.
The 31-year-old quickly dismissed any chances of facing Usman previously, telling reporters: "I don't see. It doesn't make sense for me. I want to make history in boxing, and I don't see anything right there."
