A Canadian TikToker was shocked to discover Irish weddings don't all have open bars, despite witnessing "crazy guests" dancing the night away.
The woman, who posts under Paigeatsworld on TikTok and describes herself as a foodie from Vancouver, asked viewers on the popular video sharing platform: "Does Ireland ever have open bars at weddings? First time being at a wedding that wasn't open bar!"
After polishing off a traditional Irish roast and dessert, she said: "What I found crazy was that in Ireland they don't have open bars. In Canada, every wedding is an open bar."

Despite this, the first-time wedding guest in Ireland admitted "people were still crazy."
The post received several highly voted comments, with one Irish woman explaining: "We don’t have open bars due to the price of alcohol and how much we drink."
Anther quick witted commenter stated that an open bar would require someone to "remortgage their property", while another said the queue would be "endless."
One pushback said: "How is that crazy? Weddings cost about 30k already, an open bar would make it closer to 50k."
Another, reflected on her own experience: "I went to a wedding with an open bar in Ireland last year. It was carnage."
One final TikToker shocked the poster by saying: "My brother had an open bar for his wedding (day 1) his bar bill was the same price as my whole wedding weekend, 30+ thousand euro."
