Can you still buy official Chelsea merchandise and can I still get the home shirt?

Chelsea FC have been heavily in the spotlight over the past few weeks due to the club's owner, Roman Abramovich being added to the list of Russian oligarch's who have had their assets frozen.

As part of the UK government's response to Russia's invasion of Ukraine Chelsea are now unable to sell any merchandise or new tickets.

The 55-year-old, who has been in charge of the club since 2003, has put the club up for sale with an asking price of around £3bn however will not be able to benefit from his ownership of the club.

The club are still able to play their fixtures thanks to a special licence issued by the government and season-ticket holders will still be able to attend games. Any tickets sold before 10 March will also be honoured.

So, how can I get any Chelsea merch?

Chelsea's online megastore currently has a landing page that reads: "Due to the latest government announcement, the Chelsea Megastore Official Online Store shall be offline until further notice."

For fans who still want to purchase a replica shirt then there are still options available even though the club store, both online and at Stamford Bridge, is now closed.

Kits are still available on such sites as Sports Direct, the Nike store and JD Sports to name but a few.

The Nike website also sells an array of Chelsea merchandise including shorts, jackets, footballs and training kit items.

A new kit leak to excite fans

For fans hoping for some light at the end of the tunnel a new Chelsea third kit leak has appeared online for the upcoming 2022/23 season.

Designed by Nike the leaked kit, as shown on Footy Headlines, is primarily in gold/sesame with black detailing and an all black badge. The kit will also have orange sleeve cuffs providing a pop of colour.

This new design follows suit to the simpler home kit leak that has been circling Twitter over the last few months.

Chelsea's next game is against Lille in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday, March 16 at 8:00pm live on BT Sport.

The Blues will then head on to face Middlesbrough in the FA Cup quarter finals live on BBC One on Saturday, March 19 at 5:15pm.
