Love or hate JD Wetherspoon there's no denying they're good value for money and can offer a decent night out.
They are not known for their grandeur, though many are found in beautiful and historic buildings. But if you've ever been in a 'Spoons there's one thing you've probably noticed that stands out, and that is their unique and eccentric carpets.
Some come in the style of ornate Persian rugs, others an art-deco design and some look more like a bus seat than a carpet you'd find in a pub, but all have their own character and one person has been on a mission to log all 850 of them across the country.
The website Wetherspoon's Carpets, run by blogger Kit Caless, shows that no two Wetherspoon carpets bear the same design. It's an interesting but oddly refreshing fact about the pub chain which, as you might've noticed, applies to Wetherspoons throughout Merseyside.
Can you recognise these Merseyside Wetherspoon from their carpets? Take our quiz and test your knowledge of the chain's local pubs.
If the quiz doesn't load you can find it here.
