The proverbial 15 pounds of muscle stemming from the offseason workouts of NBA players is a training camp interview staple, but star players on the same team — retired or otherwise — are a much less common visual during the dog days of August.
Yet, we have seen superstar Boston Celtics forward Jayson Tatum working out with not just one but two Boston players this offseason. The St. Louis native put in reps with All-NBA teammate Jaylen Brown and retired Hall of Fame Celtics champ Paul Pierce. Can we take anything away from Tatum’s offseason workouts with this duo of Boston killers? Or is the news of those training sessions more akin to the eternal 15 pounds of muscle mentioned above?
