'Can't not think about it' - Man United's Leah Galton makes title race admission after latest WSL victory

Manchester United star Leah Galton admitted they can't not think about the title race this season as they continue to battle it out at the top of the table.

The Red Devils are top of the WSL standings following their 4-0 victory over Brighton on Saturday afternoon. However, the teams behind them are right on their heels and will be in action on Sunday.

Two goals from Leah Galton, followed by late strikes from Lucia Garcia and Rachel Williams clinched another crucial victory for Marc Skinner's side as the fight with Chelsea, Arsenal and Man City rumbles on. Galton opened up on the fight for silverware this term and United are enjoying the ride.

"You can't not think about it (title race)," she told Sky Sports post-match. "You can't not think about the Champions League as well, because we've never done that. Personally, for me, it's something I really want to do.

"That's always in the back of your head and I think that gives me more oomph to just go out there and perform for the team and make sure we get the wins. I'll sit back and watch (tomorrow's games) and enjoy it.

"I know we put in a performance today that we can be proud of so we can rest up tomorrow."

Title rivals Man City and Arsenal face each other on Sunday while holders Chelsea face a tough test in high-flying Aston Villa in the later kick-off. The race is expected to go right to the wire, but United currently hold a three-point advantage at the summit heading into Sunday's fixtures.

Following the conclusion of the international break, Skinner's side will be up against Brighton once again in the semi-finals of the FA Cup. Then, they face rivals Arsenal in another huge top-of-the-table clash later this month.
