It's a fact that hiring an interior designer can result in a more successful, practical and better-looking remodel. If your budget won't allow for one, the next best solution might be to visit a showhouse or, of course, enjoy our interior design pages.
However, not everyone can travel across country to , perhaps, Kips Bay. However, just like our interior design features, there is another open-all-hours, view-from-home option: the Living By Design virtual showhouse.
After a successful launch in 2022, Embello, the preeminent influencer marketing agency for the interior design industry, is bringing 12 top designers and eight sponsoring brands for their second annual completely virtual showhouse.
The 12 designers selected will each imagine individual spaces that comprise the four-bedroom, three and a half-bath West Coast setting, complete with pool.
Names include: Bobby Berk, who's designing the Great Room; designer Brigette Romanek (think: Gwyneth Paltrow), who's overseeing the primary bath and closet; Marie Flanigan (primary bedroom); Dabito (guest bedroom and bath); Camille Styles (outdoor dining); Paloma Contreras (kitchen and pantry); Will Taylor of Bright Bazaar (front entry and pool surround); Anne Sage (laundry Room and mudroom); Carmeon Hamilton (dining room); Ariel Okin (sunroom); Don Ricardo Massenburg (office); and MA Allen (kids’ bedroom and bath).
'I couldn't be more excited to be back for another year at the 2023 Living by Design Showhouse,' says design expert and Emmy-nominated TV host Bobby Berk. 'It's truly invigorating to be part of such a groundbreaking and innovative concept in the design industry and among so many talented creatives.
'Designing spaces exclusively in the virtual realm gives us the freedom to push boundaries, unleash boundless creativity, and redefine the future of design.'
Digitally set in a traditional new-build in Brentwood, CA, the digital interactive showhouse tour will go live in September 2023, and, like last year, will offer a shoppable showcase for consumers and industry insiders alike.
Between today's announcement and the September launch, you can follow along behind the scenes of each designer's process, as mood boards, renderings and sneak peeks will be shared regularly on Instagram.
'Our goal in launching a completely virtual showhouse is to pull back the curtain on a traditionally trade-focused event and make it approachable to anyone interested in design,' remarks founder Laiza Cors. 'I love the opportunity to showcase exceptional spaces in a way that is accessible, interactive, shoppable, and waste-free.
'We can’t wait to reveal what our A-list team of designers dream up this year, as they have full creative freedom with no budget constraints. The Living by Design Showhouse’s doors never close and can be experienced for years beyond launch.'
Sponsoring brands will be highlighted throughout the home including California Closets (organization), Kohler (plumbing), Ann Sacks (tile), Dunn-Edwards DURA (paint), Minted (original and fine art), Lamps Plus (lighting), AHF (flooring) and Summer Classics (outdoor furniture).
To kick off the showhouse, Embello is hosting a national sweepstakes (open now) for a chance to win $5,000 to upgrade your home.
