Netherlands star Frenkie de Jong's future at Barcelona remains unclear after club director Jordi Cruyff spoke cryptically about the midfielder.
De Jong was the subject of multiple bids from Manchester United in the summer with Erik ten Hag said to have made the Dutchman his number one target, but he resisted and stayed in Spain.
Liverpool are now linked with making a move for the former Ajax talent as Jurgen Klopp looks for reinforcements in the midfield to come in and strengthen his side.

Klopp has made Borussia Dortmund's Jude Bellingham his number one on the list of midfielders, but the England international alone may not be enough for Liverpool.
Cruyff told EsportsRAC1 : "Frenkie de Jong's talent can not be discussed. But here at Barca, he's playing in different way and position. His talent, his skills are amazing and can't be discussed"
It was believed Barcelona agreed a deal worth £63 million for De Jong in the summer, but the player decided against moving to Manchester and wanted to fight for his place with the La Liga leaders.
