Can Rangers keep Liverpool at bay and will Celtic make their Champions League mark in Leipzig? Monday Jury

Battle of Britain time tomorrow, can Rangers come away with at least a point against Liverpool?

Keith Jackson: Probably not. The good news is Liverpool are in the flakiest form of Jurgen Klopp’s time in charge. The bad news is that the German badly needs his team to spark back to life so can’t afford to take this one lightly. It could be a long night for the Ibrox men.

Gordon Parks: It could be a painful learning curve for Rangers against a side on a superior level in Europe but Brighton showed there’s hope of catching the Reds. It’s about rising to the occasion and they’ve done it before so they are capable of bagging a point.

Andy Newport: Unlikely. Very unlikely. Saturday’s Tynecastle triumph was just what the doctor ordered for Gio van Bronckhorst’s team after their September slump but the truth is they will have to go to new heights to get anything at Anfield.

Celtic will look to make their Champions League mark against Leipzig, can they come away with a positive result?

Keith: A draw on the road would be a good return but Celtic have been knocked out of their early season stride over the last couple of weeks. Again, this could be the wrong trip at the wrong time for Scotland’s champions.

Gordon: The big concern for Celtic is how vulnerable they are at the back and Red Bull have the striking talent to exploit that glaring lack of authority when defending set-piece situations. A draw isn’t beyond them but all of the moons will have to align.

Andy: Rangers dumped the Germans out of last year’s Europa League but they had to survive a nervy night at the Red Bull Arena as Christopher Nkunku passed up a couple of glorious chances. If the Germans have their shooting boots on it might be a tough night for Celtic.

St Mirren moved into third spot in the Premiership with their win over Livi but can they sustain their surge?

Keith: They certainly look like being this season’s surprise package but Stephen Robinson doesn’t have the depth of squad to realistically aim for a third-place finish. If he can keep them in the top six for the remainder of the campaign then he’ll have worked a minor miracle.

Gordon: Organisation and work ethic has been the key for the Buddies under Robinson but a trip to Rangers this weekend could stop them in their tracks. It’s the clean sheets which have been so impressive so the signs are this could be the season where they achieve a top-six finish.

Andy: A slump will come eventually given Robbo is working with such a tight squad but the longer they can keep their main men fit, the better a shot Saints will have at finally nailing down that top-six finish they’ve longed for.

Dundee United are still searching for their first Premiership win. Is the writing on the wall for the Tannadice side?

Keith: No. It’s been a horrible start to the season but United’s squad has a decent mix of youth, experience and talent. All they need is a result and a performance to kickstart their campaign.

Gordon: The hasty dismissal of Jack Ross was an error of judgement and it’s proving costly as United are in a state of crisis with a rookie boss – a perfect storm which shows no signs of improvement. Liam Fox is a respected coach but as a first job it could prove too big a step.

Andy: Something drastic has to happen to change their fortunes. However, Tannadice chiefs have already binned one boss and Liam Fox is about to find out Jack Ross emptied the kitty he’d be hoping to spend in January back in the summer. The signs look ominous.
