Manchester United were active in the transfer market right up until the final throes of the window.
Marcel Sabitzer arrived on loan from Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich for the rest of the season. Former Newcastle United striker Andy Carroll injured Christian Eriksen’s ankle at the weekend - forcing Man United into the market.
The Austrian was a force to be reckoned with at Red Bull Leipzig but has stuttered since moving to the German champions. An impressive 52 goals from 229 appearances from midfield caught the attention of several Premier League clubs but, ultimately, he opted for Bayern.

His career has stuttered since seeking pastures new, playing an entire 90 minutes just once all season. A new challenge awaits at Old Trafford as Sabitzer aims to rediscover his midfield spark.
Eddie Howe and Co be waiting for him on February 26 in the Carabao Cup final. The Red Devils defeated Nottingham Forest to book their place at the Wembley showdown later this month.
Their new signing was not part of the squad that beat Forest but is available for the final. Cup-tie regulations only concern incomings from other domestic clubs, hence why Anthony Gordon will miss out in the capital.
Sabitzer is free for selection as a like-for-like replacement for the injured Eriksen. Ironically, Martin Dubravka cannot feature before he played for Erik ten Hag’s side in an earlier round of the competition.
