Aryna Sabalenka has advanced to the finals of the 2025 Australian Open. Sabalenka seeks her third consecutive Australian Open title and fourth career Grand Slam.
She looks virtually unbeatable in Melbourne. Sabalenka has not rested on her laurels. Her game has improved since her maiden Melbourne win in 2023. Sabalenka’s footwork and finesse game are much better than when she was all about power and the big serve.

Sabalenka defeated her friend Paula Badosa in straight sets. Badosa was left to smile and shake her head at times because Sabalenka was that good.
Can anyone beat Sabalenka at the Australian Open? There are only two players left who could have a chance. Madison Keys and Iga Swiatek will battle it out in the second semifinal.
We know who our first finalist is, but who will join world No.1 Aryna Sabalenka in Saturday’s decider?

Aryna Sabalenka Leads Madison Keys In Head-To-Head Play
Madison Keys has not fared well against Sabalenka in her career. They have played five times with Keys winning just one 2021 match. Keys is playing at a high level and appears fully healthy in 2025. Both Sabalenka and Keys started the season with titles: Brisbane International for Sabalenka and Adelaide International for Keys.
Iga Swiatek Leads Aryna Sabalenka In Head-To-Head Play
Iga Swiatek is one of the few players who has played well against Sabalenka in recent years. Swiatek has 8 wins in their 12 previous meetings. It is worth noting that if Swiatek beats Keys and advances to the Australian Open final, it would be the first time Sabalenka and Swiatek would meet in a Grand Slam final.
Their only other Grand Slam meeting was at the 2022 US Open semifinal, a three-set match Swiatek won.
On any given day, anything can happen in professional tennis, especially in Grand Slams. Sabalenka is mentally and physically tough, but could the idea of being a three-peat champion creep into her mind in the finals? She is poised to enter the history books behind Martina Hingis as the latest three-peat champion behind Hingis’s 1997-1999 reign as Queen of Melbourne.
