Campaigned virtually because of the COVID-19 pandemic regulations, says Stalin

Chief Minister M.K. Stalin on Sunday said he had opted for a virtual campaign for the elections to the urban local bodies since the government had imposed regulations in view of the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Some say I lack the courage to face people. I addressed election meetings through webinars since COVID-19-appropriate regulations are in place. But I also said I would visit all districts to participate in meetings to celebrate the victory in the elections,” he said while presiding over a family wedding of a DMK party leader.

Mr. Stalin said people had great concern for his health and advised him not to strain himself when he visited flood-affected areas. There was no doubt that the DMK and its allies would secure a major victory in the civic elections, he said and added, “Everyone knows the outcome. We are going to secure a major victory and there is no doubt about it,” he said.
