Cammy Devlin marked his first international start for Australia by being involved in a nasty head knock despite smiling through the pain.
The Hearts star was in from the start as the Socceroos took on Ecuador but was replaced after 50 minutes following a head knock suffered in the first half hour of the game. The Gorgie have an Aussie influence in Edinburgh but Devlin was the only one to start in the clash with Kye Rowles, Nathaniel Atkinson and youngster Garang Kuol on the bench.
The 24-year-old wasn't shy in getting stuck in it appears but did receive treatment early on with blood seeping from his head and having to be bandaged by medical staff. Yet it all seems in good spirits as the popular Hearts man smiled while being taken off.

The official Socceroos Twitter also saw the light-hearted side, tweeting: "How else did we really expect @cammy_devlin to mark his first international start?
"He wouldn't have it any other way."
Meanwhile fans shared their views. One wrote: "I have a feeling Cammy Devlin with blood pouring out of his head is going to be a cheat code. It will make him better."
Another added: "Cammy Devlin, my bandaged Hearts hero."
Yet not everyone was pleased with the protocol involved: "I am shocked that Cammy Devlin was allowed to play on after that head injury, just goes to show the shocking lack of care shown to the players regarding concussions in the modern game."
