Camilla tests positive for Covid-19 just days after Prince Charles

The Duchess of Cornwall has tested positive for Covid-19.

The 74-year-old has been struck down with the virus just days after Prince Charles tested positive for a second time in two years.

A Clarence House spokesman said: “Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cornwall has tested positive for Covid-19 and is self-isolating."

The Prince of Wales had attended an event at the British Museum with other dignitaries just before he realised he had coronavirus.

Both Charles and Camilla are fully vaccinated against COVID-19, including a booster shot.

Charles' spokespeople announced he was positive last Thursday, when the duchess carried out a number of engagements.

Speaking that day she described herself as "lucky", saying she had been tested "so many times".

The Queen was in contact with her eldest son Charles just two days before he tested positive but Buckingham Palace has refused to say whether she's tested positive also, due to "privacy".

On Thursday spokespeople did confirm she was not displaying any symptoms.

Last week the Clarence House statement read: "This morning The Prince of Wales has tested positive for COVID-19 and is now self-isolating.

"HRH is deeply disappointed not to be able to attend today's events in Winchester and will look to reschedule his visit as soon as possible."

"We continue to follow government guidelines."

Charles previously tested positive in March 2020 but had mild symptoms.
