It’s asking a lot of Cameron Jordan’s family to support him into the fourteenth and fifteenth years of his NFL career, but that’s what they agreed to before he signed a new contract extension with the New Orleans Saints. Jordan spoke with local media on Friday morning while surrounded by his wife Nikki, their son Tank and daughters Chanel, Noel, and Nia, as well as his father Steve — who was inducted to the Minnesota Vikings Ring of Honor in 2019.
So they’re all very happy for him, and understandably so. There aren’t many players who are able to spend such a long career with the same team. When asked whether his wife had pushed back against extending his career longer, Jordan responded with what he’d requested of her: “Don’t Tom Brady me.”
The former Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback developed a rivalry with Jordan, who made reference to Brady’s split with Gisele Bündchen after Brady ended his 41-day retirement to come back and play one more season in the NFL. Jordan’s comment earned exasperation from his wife Nikki, and the tastefulness of the jab is debatable, but it’s as authentic a line as Jordan has ever said.
