Cameron House Hotel has appointed Allan Wilson as general manager as it enters its 200 anniversary year.
He joins from being hotel manager at the IHG voco Grand Central Hotel in Glasgow, responsible for overseeing all operational departments and playing a key role in re-launching it as a voco brand.
Glaswegian-born Wilson began his career in hospitality as a waiter-turned-chef at the age of 17, before working his way up the ranks in various operational and front-of-house positions across hotel brands including Macdonald, Hilton and Radisson Blu.
“I have always regarded Cameron House as being at the pinnacle of the finest hospitality in Scotland,“ he commented. “It’s a dream come true to work at the country’s most treasured and historical hotels alongside an inspiring and talented team of professionals.”
Jennifer Jurgensen, director of HR at the hotel, added: “Allan brings genuine passion for hospitality and integrity the team at Cameron House Resort.
“We are dedicated to delivering unrivalled experiences for all our guests and Allan possesses exceptional leadership values that will continue to build on that commitment and have real impact.”
The five-star hotel and resort is set within 400-acres of countryside on the banks of Loch Lomond.
Following a restoration of the 17th century Baronial mansion, Cameron House now has 208 bedrooms, including 24 suites, along with a spa with rooftop infinity pool, 18-hole championship golf course, a range of restaurants and bars, event spaces, leisure club and 29-seat cinema, 234-berth marina, and activities such as jet skiing, loch cruises, sea plane trips, pony treks, clay pigeon shooting, off-road driving and bike hire.
This year, the hotel’s 600-strong team will celebrate 200 years through a series of events and guest experiences.
