Cameron Diaz says acting in Hollywood now feels 'different' after retirement u-turn

Cameron Diaz fans rejoice - she's back.

The actress, 50, is set to return to the big screen for the first time in eight years, and four years after announcing her retirement from Hollywood.

But despite getting back in front of the camera, the Charlie's Angels star admits things aren't quite the same anymore in the industry. The blonde beauty returns to take up a role in Netflix movie Back in Action alongside Jamie Foxx and confessed she was nervous about setting foot back on set.

Speaking to The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Cameron said: "It's a little bit of muscle memory, you know what I mean? I did that for so long, it's kind of like the process, I kind of just fell back into it. But it feels a little bit different."

But she went on to gush at how "amazing" it felt to star alongside Jamie once again after previously working together in 1999 for Any Given Sunday, and the remake of Annie in 2014.

"The last movie I made was Annie with Jamie," she continued. "And so the first movie back is this film with Jamie. He's so great, he's so easy, he's so professional, he's so talented, and just being able to work with him. It will be so much fun."

Jamie, who will serve as both Cameron's co-star and executive producer on the movie when it starts filming later in the year, described the actress as being "like a racehorse".

He revealed last month how he had to beg the star to come out of retirement for the production. "We just begged and pleased on my knees, like, 'Just give the people one more again,'" Jamie told E! News' Daily Pop. "We love her, we've been waiting on her and this is just gonna be fantastic."

In a chat with ET, he added: "Cameron is such an incredible force and she has done so much in this business. We love her. We miss special moments sometimes, in our business, and I think this is a special moment. So we're so happy that it's happening and looking forward to it."

The u-turn by Cameron comes after she had previously said she had grown tired of traveling due to the job. She admitted it was time to focus on parenting and in 2019 she welcomed her daughter, Raddix, with her rockstar hubby, Benji Madden, 43.
