Cameron Carter-Vickers has completed his permanent move to Celtic after signing a blockbusting four-year deal.
The US international was a top priority for Ange Postecoglou after an impressive season on loan at Parkhead
Record Sport exclusively revealed last month the 24-year-old had agreed personal terms with the club leaving the Hoops to thrash out the mechanics of a deal with Spurs.
That will see an initial £6m fee shelled out, under the terms of the option which came with last summer’s loan agreement, which could rise to £10m with add-ons.
That could yet become a record transfer for the champions. But Postecoglou will feel it’s a price worth paying for a player who was a rock at the heart of defence as Celtic reclaimed the title from Rangers.
Carter-Vickers said: “I am so pleased to complete my move to Celtic and I really could not be happier.
“I have loved every minute of my time at Celtic so far and I really wanted to be part of the club’s future.
“We have a fantastic group of players at the club, we have a really good spirit and atmosphere among us and we all worked so hard together to deliver the league and League Cup success last season.
“I wanted to make sure I was part of this group going forward and working under a great manager, and now we all want to achieve more.
“We have so much to look forward to, we will aim to be strong again domestically and of course we look ahead with real excitement to the Champions League.
“I have received such a great welcome from everyone at the club from day one and also from our supporters. When you are fortunate enough to be inside Celtic you can see it really is one of the world’s great football clubs.
“I am delighted to be given this opportunity at a club of this stature and I will be doing all I can to play my part in bringing more and more success to our fans.”
Carter-Vickers made 45 appearances scoring four goals including the winner in April’s key derby victory at Ibrox.
His form had alerted a string of Premier League clubs including newly-promoted Bournemouth and Fulham as well as Everton and Burnley.
But Carter-Vickers made it clear his preference was to remain in Glasgow and build on the double-winning season with Champions League group stage football also guaranteed next season.
His form has also seen him force his way back into US boss Gregg Berhalter’s plans ahead of the Qatar World Cup in November.
