Cameron Carter-Vickers reveals his plans for watching Aberdeen vs Rangers

Celtic central defender Cameron Carter-Vickers says he may tune in to watch Rangers' game against Aberdeen this afternoon.

The Parkhead side could be crowned champions of Scotland for the fourth successive season if the Dons win.

It comes after their emphatic 5-1 victory over Kilmarnock on Saturday afternoon. Carter-Vickers himself scored in the match, finding the top left corner from range with a piledriver. He likely won't score a better goal in his career.

Reo Hatate, Daizen Maeda and Anthony Ralston also got in on the act in a dominant victory for Brendan Rodgers' men.

Celtic know that an Aberdeen victory today will make them champions. Carter-Vickers was asked on Friday whether he'll be watching the match: "If we win [against Kilmarnock], I'll probably watch it," he said.

"We haven't made any plans or anything like that to watch it as a group, but we'll see."

Boss Rodgers weighed in on the subject after his side dismantled the Rugby Park outfit on Saturday: "I don’t know, I probably won’t (watch it), in all fairness, but it was important for us to do our job," he said.

"We’ll see what the split brings and then take it from there. I think any time you get over the line, it is. I’m still frustrated it’s not today. If I’m honest. But we can’t do anything about that now.

"We’ve done everything we could do. And whenever and if it comes, we have to be ready for it. We’ve obviously got the Scottish Cup semi-final, so we’re arriving to that in a great place.

"We can only do our job. If Aberdeen win, then brilliant. Whoever wins the league is always deserving champions."

If Rangers avoid defeat this afternoon, Celtic will have to wait until the first round of post-split fixtures, which take place on the weekend of April 26/27, to secure the title.

They face St Johnstone in the semi-finals of the Scottish Cup next weekend.
