Cameron Carter Vickers Celtic season is OVER after Rangers as Ange Postecoglou puts injured star 'out to pasture'

Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou has revealed Cameron Carter-Vickers season is OVER after victory over Rangers.

Winger Jota was the hero at Hampden when he nodded in Daizen Maeda's cross to net only goal of the Scottish Cup semi-final to set up a meeting with Inverness Caley Thistle in the final, with the side on course for a Treble this season when they face off with the Scottish Championship side. It leaves Rangers facing a season without silverware as Michael Beale continues his search for his first derby day victory since stepping into the Ibrox hotseat.

Despite the Portuguese forward grabbing the headlines Carter-Vickers was a top performer on the day, keeping the likes of Alfredo Morelos at bay during a thriller at the national stadium. Record Sport previously revealed USA international has been playing through the pain barrier with a knee injury, and Postecoglou has now confirmed his season is over.

The Celtic boss told Viaplay: "I thought the two centre-halves were outstanding. That is Cameron Carter-Vickers last game. He has been carrying an injury for I don't know how long. We will put him out to pasture for now and let him get what he needs to get done."
