At the latest meeting of Motherwell Photographic Society on Thursday, March 9, club members had the opportunity to photograph Club President Colin Cameron’s Royal Enfield Himalayan motorcycle.
The first part of the evening was spent photographing the motorbike using controlled studio lighting with a white background.
The lights and background were removed and for the remainder of the evening the members had fun trying out some light painting techniques with the motorcycle.
The lighting effects produced some very interesting results.
At the next meeting scheduled for Thursday, March 16, the members will view the Scottish Photographic Federation’s annual portfolio.
This is also the hand-in night for the Hugh Shaw Memorial Trophy print competition.
Members can submit up to five prints on any subject.
Motherwell Photographic Society meets on a Thursday evening at 7.30pm in Holytown Community Centre, Stevenston Street, Holytown, ML1 4RG.
As always, anyone with an interest in photography, no matter your level, is welcome to attend and they look forward to welcoming friends old and new.
For more information, please head online or the club’s Facebook page.
The website also has a gallery where you can view examples of members’ work.
