More than 200 youngsters from Cambuslang Rugby Club’s junior section held their end of season fun day last month.
Those who took part in a fun-filled day raised an impressive £3750 while enjoying a sponsored run and obstacle course, tug of war, award ceremony, AGM and BBQ.
Joined by family and friends, the youngsters enjoyed touch rugby, water fights, games and general fun in the sunshine.
On a more serious note, the incredible tally raised through the sponsored fun run, tombola, bake sale and donations will be reinvested straight into the club and will go now towards improving facilities and new kit.
It will also enable development opportunities to continue across all of the teams and within the wider community.
Stewart Barnett, convener of Cambuslang’s junior section, was delighted with the success of the event.
He told the Reformer: “We have been overwhelmed by the turnout in support of the club from players, coaches, family and friends.
“It was fantastic to have so many of our junior players come together to celebrate our brilliant season.”
