The Los Angeles Lakers are 10-8 going into Wednesday’s game at the Detroit Pistons, and one reason their record is mediocre is the injuries they have dealt with.
Gabe Vincent, Jarred Vanderbilt, Taurean Prince, Rui Hachimura and Cam Reddish, to name a few, have all missed multiple games already. The absences of Vincent, Vanderbilt and Reddish particularly stand out; they may be the Lakers’ three best perimeter defenders.
The team is coming off a humiliating 44-point loss to the Philadelphia 76ers on Monday in which its defense was truly missing in action.
The good news for Los Angeles is Reddish will return for Wednesday’s game in Michigan.
Anthony Davis, LeBron James and Cam Reddish have all been upgraded to available for tonight’s game at Detroit.
Reddish had missed 3 straight games with a groin strain, after exiting 5 minutes into the Nov. 21 game vs. Utah.

Reddish was moved into the starting lineup on Nov. 10. From that point until he suffered the groin injury that has kept him out, the Lakers won six of seven games. His defensive anticipation and ability to hit 3-pointers from the corners have been assets to the team, and the former lottery pick may be finding his niche in the NBA.
