Aberdeen fans were denied an opportunity to say goodbye to Calvin Ramsay today after the full-back was left out of the Dons' final Premiership fixture of the season.
The 18-year-old has enjoyed a breakout campaign and has been one of the few bright spots in an otherwise disappointing year, and last week claimed the SWFA Young Player of the Year Award.
Ramsay's pinpoint crosses and lung-bursting runs have seen him linked with a move to some of Europe's top sides, but Premier League giants Liverpool are expected to complete a move for the Scotland Under-21 star later this summer.
But any Reds fans hoping for one last glimpse of Ramsay in an Aberdeen jersey in today's clash with St Mirren were left sorely disappointed, with the star man omitted from the 18-man squad.
The news wasn't received too well on social media, with one Twitter user writing: 'On the subject of goodbyes, I see we're not getting the chance to see off Calvin Ramsay lest the cash cow gets damaged on the way to the market.'
Another added: 'Calvin Ramsay has obviously played his last game. Sad day.'
And a third concluded: 'No Ramsay at all in the squad? Not even to say cheerio?!'
Jim Goodwin's men could leapfrog Hibs and finish the season off in ninth position with a win over the Buddies, but would need the Easter Road side to drop points in their final day clash with St Johnstone.
