Calvin Harris jokes he's 'ruined relationship' with Coldplay frontman Chris Martin after radio call

Calvin Harris joked he has 'ruined' his relationship with Coldplay frontman Chris Martin after a radio phone call.

The Dumfries born DJ appeared on Greg James' BBC Radio 1 show on Monday morning and took part in a popular segment called Sit Down, Stand Up. Calvin, 39, who is engaged to broadcaster Vick Hope, recently released his new single Miracle with his pal and frequent collaborator Ellie Goulding.

During his appearance on Greg's show, Calvin took part in the game where guests must call someone in their phone book and ask whether or not they are sitting down or standing up when they answer. Greg and his guest must place their bets on the answer before ringing the unsuspecting participant.

Calvin decided to call up the Coldplay frontman as he had been texting him before appearing on the show. The DJ said: "Let's try Chris Martin from Coldplay. He text me the other day to say that 'Miracle is super cool' in capital letters.

He added: "And he says 'much love from Brazil', which means he's in Brazil."

However the Fix You singer didn't answer the phone, so Calvin in turn had to leave a message for Chris to listen to later on. Leaving a voicemail message, Calvin said: "Hey Chris, it's Calvin, I'm just wondering are you sitting down or standing up?"

After hanging up, Calvin couldn't hold back his laughter and said: "I was trying to do a tune with him!"

Greg replied: "That could be a work in progress." Holding back laughter, Calvin added: "That's the relationship ruined".

This comes after Calvin recently moved in with his fiance Vick after getting engaged last year. The BBC broadcaster joined Calvin on his tour last year, and shared a slew of snaps as she travelled across Australia, New Zealand and Bali.
